Resumen

Las Escuelas Europeas constituyen un sistema educativo propio, con setenta años de antigüedad, que posee, además, unos procedimientos de evaluación de centros (las whole school inspections) con unas características que podrían aplicarse provechosamente en el sistema educativo español. Esos procedimientos se han extendido, con el tiempo, a las “escuelas europeas acreditadas”, que ya doblan en número a las escuelas europeas tradicionales y que se inspeccionan mediante un procedimiento de auditoría que presenta muchas semejanzas –pero también claras diferencias– con las whole school inspections.
