Abstract
En el trabajo se precisan, a partir de las evidencias que indican la necesidad de transformar la Educación Secundaria Básica y con ello la actividad que desarrollo el director escolar del citado subsistema educacional, los presupuestos teóricos que posibilitan fundamentar su desempeño, tanto desde la condición de resultado de la práctica, como en su carácter de proceso dirigido hacia la solución de problemas propios de la actividad pedagógica profesional de dirección, en su relación con el objetivo presente en el medio escolar.
