Resumen

El sistema educativo de los Estados Unidos de América es un sistema complejo y muy variado. Debido al gran número de agentes que intervienen en su regulación, las diferencias que puede haber entre la educación de un estado y de otro, o incluso entre la educación de un distrito escolar y de otro de la misma ciudad, pueden ser muy grandes. Las últimas reformas educativas a nivel federal, con las aprobaciones de las leyes “No Child Left Behind” y “Race to the Top”, han supuesto un vuelco sin precedentes en la educación americana. La generalización de los tests estandarizados en todo el país como sistema para rendir cuentas ha provocado que Estados y distritos escolares hayan centrado todos sus recursos y esfuerzos a superar estos tests.
