Abstract
ABSTRACT
In this article we treat the social participation as a space that can be used to form the values of the subjects, since it is assumed that one of this concept’s core is the democracy. The exploration is it proposed in the pedagogical dimension of social participation, understood as a methodological learning principle and as a space that enables the different educational actors to get involved into the improvement of scholar practices.
The following question arises: ¿what role will the social participation play in the construction of adequate scenarios that the actual school has the responsibility to generate?, assuming that school is one of the responsible institutions generating spaces where the democracy is practiced and, in general, to contribute with the values training in the students. Likewise it is described the curricular material to rescue the way the program contents are treated and to identify the place that is assigned to the democracy and social participation as a whole. The article reaches the end with the assertion “the social participation is a space where the values are taught and the democracy is constructed and practiced, understanding the democracy as a lifestyle and a civil right”.
